Cinderella - AUDITIONS

By A. Genus

Directed By: Chris Gatt
Venue: MFCC Ta'Qali
Dates: 22 December 2017 - 02 January 2018
Doors Opening Time: Matinees: 14.00 hours - Evenings: 18.30 hours

Everyone’s all-time favourite pantomime Cinderella is back… you want to be part of the fun!

Auditions for the MADC pantomime, which this year is written by A. Genus and will be directed by Christopher Gatt will be held on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd April 2017 starting at 2.30pm and 10.30am respectively.  All those interested in auditioning are kindly asked to email me, stating the part they would like to audition for and whether they will be auditioning alone or as a couple  on for an appointment.

The audition will consist of 3 parts: Drama (Monologue/Duologue) - Singing – Dance and all applicants are to ensure they come fully prepared.

Applicants can audition alone or in twos and are  asked to either prepare a light monologue no longer than 2 minutes  or chose a monologue/duologue from the audition pack given on application.

Auditionees must also prepare  a song of their own choice (individually if auditioning as a couple) – preferably a Musical Theatre/Contemporary piece and are to ensure that they provide the relevant backing track,  pre-recorded on a Pen Drive or any other MP3 recording device.

A short choreography will be taught on the spot and auditions will then take place in the form of a group choreographed number. For this reason, it is imperative that all applicants wear comfortable clothing.

Lastly applicants will be expected to tell a short joke as their final audition piece.

Chorus      Girls and Boys (and those in between) who can act, sing and dance. Age:18 - 35.  The chorus is the pivot on which the whole Panto revolves.

Buttons      Male 21-41 -  Servant and friend to Baron Flooseless and Cinderella (whom he adores) – almost the master of ceremonies of the Panto

Fairy Godmother      Female – Ageless as all fairies are! Cinderella’s protector – helps spread the magic!

Baron Flooseless     Impoverished nobleman 35 – 60.  Does his best for Cinderella but doesn’t quite manage.  Loveable and slightly deaf!

Cinderella                Good looking and kind 20 – 30 (Female!)

Melha                      One of a duo of dislikeable tax men.  They harass the Baron to pay his dues whilst romantically pursuing the Ugly sisters.  Ever so slightly stupid.

Bzaru                      Melha’s partner but cleverer (which isn’t saying much)

Baroness Kifuza     The legendary wicked Stepmother.  Nouveau riche, has come up in the world since marrying the Baron.  Money grabbing – hates Cinderella!

Prince Helu Hafna  De Piro          Boy or Girl – 24-35  Good-looking and kind

Dandini                 Prince’s manservant and confidante – 25-35 Comes across as flamboyant and rather camp.  Enjoys a good cozzie (costume, I presume..)

All parts are up for grabs expect those of the Ugly Sisters,  Dulcey and Duda, which have been precast and will be played by Jean Pierre Busuttil and Michael Mangion.

Anyone wishing to join us backstage is kindly asked to drop us a line on with their contact details and area of expertise.
