We are very excited to announce auditions for MADC’s production of the cult classic American psychological thriller ‘Wait Until Dark’ by Frederick Knott, and directed by Tyrone Grima, at the MADC Playhouse - full details below:
AUDITIONS to be held on Saturday 30th October at the MADC Clubrooms from 4pm
Performance Dates: 22/23/24/29/30 April & 1/6/7/8 May 2022 at the MADC Playhouse
Frederick Knott's thriller is the story of Susy Hendrix, a recently blinded housewife who unwittingly possesses a doll filled with illicit drugs.
Susy: A blind woman in her late 20s. She was blinded in a car accident. She has a strong personality and is highly intuitive. Requires an American accent, preferably an Upper East coast accent.
Roat: A man in his late 40s. A ruthless sociopath. He is very intelligent and scheming. Requires a New York accent.
Mike: A man in his 40s. He is suave. Requires a New York accent and needs to imitate an Arizonian accent too.
Carlino: A man in his 30s/40s. Slightly overweight and clumsy. Low level of education. Requires a New York accent.
Sam: A man in his mid-30s. Canadian accent. A good man and loving husband, but fixated on his way of doing things.
Gloria: A 9-year old girl. She is very sensitive, hard-headed and smart. Requires a New York accent.
Patrolmen: Any age. Fit and tall. New York accent required.
N.B. Roat, Mike and Carlino have two audition pieces each since they are conmen and play different roles in the play.
Auditions will be held on Saturday 30th October at the MADC Clubrooms, St Venera from 4pm - to book your audition slot kindly email email@example.com, by Friday 29th October, with the name of the role/s you are interested in auditioning for. You will then be forwarded a couple of pages from the script for you to familiarise yourselves with for the audition. Those selected must be fully covid vaccinated.
